Welcome to Books by Cheryl Norris. Creative children’s picture books written by me, and illustrated by Lucy Howell. Currently I am self-publishing and marketing.
I have been writing poems and stories for many years for family and friends’ milestones and special occasions. But being a procrastinator, I am only now getting around to officially entering the author arena.
This is the beginning of a new adventure. Writing for family and friends is one thing but releasing for public scrutiny is another.
Primarily at this time, I write in rhyme. Yes, I did just do that! It is for me a genre I am comfortable in. The story poems are then converted into picture books.

Who Took a Bite from the Moon was written more than three decades ago and I did try to publish at that time without success. My sons were young and while riding in the car asked, “who took a bite from the moon?” I can clearly see the moon as we crested the hill shining large and bright, missing a bite. It was at that moment I began writing in earnest, one idea after another and always in rhyme.
